Cheltenham Day Two Tips and Races Preview

Neptune Novices Hurdle Tips

Day 2: Neptune Novices Hurdle

After winning the Champion Bumper at the Cheltenham Festival on this day in 2024, Fayonagh looks to have a great chance of winning the Neptune Novices Hurdle in 2024. She is a likeable filly who will relish the extra distance this season, after staying on rapidly up the Cheltenham hill over two miles last year.

With many young horses being prepared this season with this race in mind, others may come out of the pack to challenge Fayonagh in the race. However, at this stage, she looks to be a great bet and with course form already under her belt, she will head into the race with a great chance of winning, according to our Neptune Novices Hurdle tips. She definitely tops our racing betting tips.

RSA Chase Tips

Day 2: RSA Chase

This race could well be one of the best races at the entire festival, with many big names being lined up to run in it. There are six or seven top quality horses that have either won at the Cheltenham Festival before or have run well before, all aiming for this race on day two.

Willoughby Court won at the festival last season, beating Neon Wolf in a thrilling race and he looks the sort of horse who will be an even better chaser this season, thus, he deserves a place in our RSA Chase tips. He probably won’t need to be much better to win this race, after showing top-class form already, but if he does improve, then he could be a star of the racing world this season at the Cheltenham Festival Ladies Day.

Coral Cup Tips

Day 2: Coral Cup

The Coral Cup is a 2m 5f Handicap Hurdle where there is much more than the eyes can see. Most winners are aged between 5 and 9, have run 2+ times in the season, and have finished first or second last time out. The Coral Cup saw many horses with low weights in the past, and 5 of the last 7 winners carried 11 stones or more. Douvan seems to be the best choice here, provided that he will participate, and early odds might be attractive in the Coral Cup tips.

Champion Chase Tips

Day 2: Champion Chase

The whole of the racing world is hoping that Douvan can return to form this season and if he does, then he will give us one of the most anticipated clashes in racing when he meets Altior. Douvan has already proven himself, despite injuring himself and struggling in this race last season, while Altior is taking his first step into open company after winning The Arkle last season. Bookmakers have plenty of Cheltenham betting offers for Altior.

If both of these two get to the race in top form, then they are going to dominate the race and it should be a classic. At this stage, Altior looks to be the safer option so he is the choice in what is a potentially a great race. He will improve from last season with another summer on his back and looks the one to beat right now. Champion Chase tips reflect exactly this.

Cross Country Chase Tips

Day 2: Cross Country Chase

After storming up the hill to win by nine lengths last year, it is very difficult to oppose Cause Of Clauses in his bid for back to back titles in this race. He has a clear love for the course and these races have rejuvenated him, despite his growing in years.

This is one of the best races to watch at the Cheltenham Festival due to its nature, but from a betting point of view, Cause Of Clauses looks the one to bet on right now and he boasts the best horse racing odds. He likes the type of fences that they use, he loves the Cheltenham hill, and looks a safe option right now in our Cross Country Chase tips.

Fred Winter Hurdle Tips

Day 2: Fred Winter Hurdle

Diable De Sivola for Williams interests us for this. Just 2 lengths behind Defi Du Seuil, the runner finished second in the last season before finishing 3rd in the Fred Winter at long odds. The way he has been backed actually suggests that they are happy enough with this mark of 130 and are looking to crack this. His form is also good and with the 2m 100 yards, he is exactly the juvenile that took a while to hit a form. It's hard to assess how much Diable De Sivola has in hand, but it's definitely a great runner with a few pounds up his sleeve. It's one of the best horses to bet on and we confirm it in our Fred Winter Hurdle tips.

Champion Bumper Tips

Day 2: Champion Bumper

The Champion Bumper is a flat race for the premier up and coming young horses. Many horses that will run in this race haven’t seen a racecourse yet so it is very difficult to pick out a winner just now. As the race draws closer, we will see many of the intended runners having their first run on a racecourse and showing us if they are good enough to win.

The Willie Mullins’ camp have been very vocal about a youngster of theirs called Aione, who could be targeted at this race. We have yet to see him race under rules, so we have no idea if he is good enough, but this stable knows what it takes to win this race so to mention him in a good light is a tip in itself. If you are wondering which horse to bet on, listen to Champion Bumper tips and pick him.

Cheltenham Accumulator Tips Day 2

Many people like to place accumulator bets on each day of the Cheltenham Festival in the hope of winning a huge amount of money from a few horses. This is a great way to give you an interest in every race.

If you are looking to place your Cheltenham accumulators for day two of the festival, then you will want to know what our accumulator tips are. Here are two horses that should be put in your accumulator, to hopefully win you a large amount of money on the second day of the festival.

Ryanair Chase – Fox Norton.Robbie Power had a tremendous season with Fox Norton in 2017, and the winner of the Willie Mullin's Ryanair Chase is the favourite to pick up the pace again in 2024. Having beaten a powerful contender in the name of Un De Sceaux gives us the confidence to pick him for our accumulator bets.

Mares Novice Hurdle - Fayonagh. She was the star bumper in 2017 and boasts the potential to go right to the very top over hurdles in the next season, 2017/18. Trained by Gordon Elliott, she has won four of her five starts, including one at the 2017 Cheltenham Festival, so it seems to be a great pick. Even if she started slowly away, she actually found herself in a decent pace and took off at the furlong marker, but was overcome by Debuchet.

2024 Cheltenham Wednesday Preview

2024 Cheltenham Day 2 Preview

The Wednesday at the Cheltenham Festival always shapes up to be a great day of racing and the 2024 festival looks no different. We are going to see many stars take to the course in a bid to win races and be the toast of punters who have backed them.

Four horses who won at the festival last year are fancied to follow up with wins again at the 2024 festival. Only Cause Of Clauses is trying to win the same race as last season when he lines up in the Cross Country Chase, with the other three trying to win different races. Cause Of Clauses loves the cross country course at Cheltenham and he has even more love for the hill, which he stormed up last year to take the race easily.

The biggest name in our tips for Day 2 Cheltenham is Altior and he will potentially face Douvan in what will be a clash of the former champion and the up and coming youngster. Douvan lost the Champion Chase last year after injuring himself while jumping and he will be desperate to win the title back. However, Altior looks a very special horse and regardless of what form Douvan is in, Altior still looks the one to be on in this race.

Fayonagh made a huge impression in the Champion Bumper on this day last year and she looks to have an exceptional chance in the Neptune Novices Hurdle. After flying up the hill last year, the extra distance in this race is sure to suit her and she could be a potentially exciting novice hurdler. The course form she already has is a big positive in our Cheltenham Wednesday tips and she looks set for a great career, hopefully, one that includes winning the Neptune Novices Hurdle.

Willoughby Court is the final horse that looks to win again at the Cheltenham Festival and he is a potentially smart novice chaser. If he replicates the form he showed last season, then he should go close in this race, but any improvement will see him step up and be very smart. He has been working well at home and is a horse that could eventually become a Gold Cup contender in another two or three years.
