Cheltenham Day Three Tips and Races Preview

JLT Novice Chase Tips

Day 3: JLT Novice Chase

After being hugely impressive last season over hurdles, the whole racing world can’t wait to see Finian’s Oscer over the big fences this season. He has a great attitude and won four out of his five races last season, including two Grade One victories. He missed Cheltenham last season due to injury, but he came back brilliantly at the end of last season, looking a very special horse at Aintree in April.

With many young horses making the switch to big fences for the first time this season, other horses are likely to challenge Finian’s Oscar in this race. However, not many of them have the class and the Grade One-winning form that Finian’s Oscar has, making him stand out at this early stage. If you're looking for what horse to bet on, know that he is an exciting recruit to chasing and one that could go to the very top this season.

Pertemps Handicap Hurdle Final Tips

Day 3: Pertemps Handicap Hurdle

The Pertemps is a three-mile handicap hurdle in which some nice bets have been won in previous races. David Pipe has obviously worked hard to put two horses in this race. Willie Mullins' runners should also be respected. However, The Tourard Man makes a good case and is available at long odds right now. He was third in the same race in 2015 and he will actually be Alan King's only runner. Shrews will be his main rival. King usually puts great horses in such races and there's no wonder that he won the third place here in 2010 and had numerous horses with hat-tricks. Latest horse racing betting odds see him as a favourite.

Ryanair Chase Tips

Day 3: Ryanair Chase

The Ryanair Chase is one of the highlights of the festival and a race created for those top class horses who can’t quite stay the Gold Cup distance. Fox Norton is exactly that type of horse, he is top class, but would not stay the distance in the Gold Cup, meaning this race is ideal for him. He has great form at Cheltenham, winning three out of his last four visits to the course.

He came second over 2 miles in the Champion Chase last season, but showed improved form when stepped up in trip at Aintree, which makes him an exciting prospect for this race. His current form gives him a great chance in the race, and with the potential to show further improvement at this distance, he is a very exciting horse to look forward to. Our tips on betting on horses see him as a favourite.

World Hurdle Tips

Day 3: World Hurdle

The World Hurdle looks wide open this year and many of the horses at the head of the market are not certain to run in the race. One horse that looks likely to run is The Worlds End, who has a great campaign as a novice last season. He was travelling very well when falling at the Cheltenham Festival last year, however, he redeemed himself with a great run at Aintree after that, winning his first Grade One.

He looks set to stay over hurdling and has already shown his ability to stay three miles, making him a contender for this race. With many of his potential rivals looking like they may run in other races, he looks to be a very solid option at this stage in all horse bet odds.

Brown Advisory Plate Tips

Day 3: Brown Advisory Plate

This race is a handicap chase over 2m 4.5f on the new course. If you're looking for how to win horse racing bets, read on. This is actually where Martin/David Pipe managed to obtain a stunning recent record. Note that Irish raiders boast a poor overall record in this race.

Diamond King is a Gordon Elliot trained horse. He actually won the Coral Cup over smaller obstacles in 2017 and hopefully will return only 1-2lb higher to repeat that success over fences. He won well (by fourteen lengths recently) and he's done great in a Grade 2 on Boxing Day. We fancy Diamond King to give his trainer the first victory.

Mares Novices Hurdle Tips

Day 3: Mares Novices Hurdle

The Mares Novice Hurdle is such a tough race to get a grip on because of the participation of one horse and that horse is Fayonagh. If she sticks to this race, which her trainer has said she will, then she is going to take a huge amount of beating. She has Cheltenham winning form after winning the Champion Bumper last season and has cruised to victory over hurdles since then.

She is potentially good enough to run in any of the novice races this season, but if she sticks to the mares division then she is certainly a class above her rivals. Should she continue her progression throughout the season, she could turn up at the festival as one of the Irish bankers in this race, beating all odds horse racing.

Kim Muir Handicap Chase Tips

Day 3: Kim Muir Handicap Chase

This race is for amateur jockeys only and is always run over 3m 2f on the new course. The race tends to become a handicap chaser who has learnt enough to maintain his amateur pilot out of trouble but has not got to that unique point where his handicap mark has actually become overexposed. Domesday Book is the 2017 winner and we expect another victory in the 2023 edition of the race. He did pretty well in medium-distance races as of late and if he maintains the same amount of stamina, it's a perfect pick for our tips on horse betting.

Cheltenham Accumulator Tips Day 3

Accumulator bets are very popular on each day of the Cheltenham Festival, people place these in the hope of landing a big win at the world’s best jumps racing meeting. This is a great way to give you an interest in many races across the day if you choose to place an accumulator. With many Cheltenham Festival betting offers available, these could help you to place your Cheltenham accumulators.

If you are looking to place an accumulator on day three of the meeting then you will want to know what our accumulator tips are. Here are the horses that we believe should be in your accumulator, hopefully leading you towards a big jackpot.

Ryanair Chase – Fox Norton. Robbie Power had a tremendous season with Fox Norton in 2017, and the winner of the Willie Mullin's Ryanair Chase is the favourite to pick up the pace again in 2023. Having beaten a powerful contender in the name of Un De Sceaux gives us the confidence to pick him for our accumulator bets.

Mares Novice Hurdle - Fayonagh. She was the star bumper in 2017 and boasts the potential to go right to the very top over hurdles in the next season, 2023. Trained by Gordon Elliott, she has won four of her five starts, including one at the 2017 Cheltenham Festival, so it seems to be a great pick. Even if she started slowly away, she actually found herself in a decent pace and took off at the furlong marker, but was overcome by Debuchet.

2023 Cheltenham Thursday Preview

2023 Cheltenham Day 3 Preview

The Thursday at the Cheltenham Festival always looks like being a great day and with it landing on St Patrick’s Day, the Irish runners are always going to be very popular. Let our Cheltenham Day 3 preview help you as we see many stars take to the track from the UK and Ireland in a bid to win a huge pot and delight the punters that have followed. With many Irish punters at the course, the more winners there are trained in Ireland, the better their day will be. Our top tips for Cheltenham Festival are now available and these will lead you in the right way.

As part of our Cheltenham Festival Day 3 tips, we have two unlucky horses from last season coming back to Cheltenham looking for revenge, and one classy winner who could go on to be something special if she wins here again. The two unlucky horses are The Worlds End and Fox Norton, both will be coming back for different races but looking for revenge. The Worlds End, in particular, was very unlucky when falling last season while still in with a chance.

Fox Norton could head into the Ryanair Chase as a short-priced favourite if he proves he is a better horse over this extra distance. After going very close over two miles last season, he looks to have a great chance of going one better this season. With age on his side, if he does win the Ryanair, he could be back in 2023 for another crack at the race.

Fayonagh made a huge impression in the Champion Bumper on this day last year and she looks to have an exceptional chance in the Mares Novices Hurdle. After flying up the hill last year, the extra distance in this race is sure to suit her and she could be a potentially exciting novice hurdler. The course form she already has is a big positive and she looks set for a great career, if she runs in the Mares Novice Hurdle she is clearly the one to beat.
