The Cheltenham World Hurdle is one of the big four races at Cheltenham and it crowns the horse who is the best long distance hurdler. It is a race that horses aim for throughout the season and we often see many of the same horses coming back year after year to run in this race. This gives us great rivalries and in the past we have seen horses win this race multiple times, going on to be great hurdlers.
With this race being over three miles and being a hurdle race you often know what is going to run well in advance. Horses will very rarely go chasing mid-season, so if they run over hurdles on their first start, you can assume they will stay hurdling all season. The only other top hurdle race is over two miles, which is a big drop in distance, so the horses in this race are highly unlikely to be entered in both races. The Stayers Hurdle is a great race, and always gives us a great winner. Let's check our World Hurdle tips.

Being a race where it looks set who will run already, we can start looking at the Stayers Hurdle very early and picking out selections for the race. Who will be the World Hurdle winners? This means you can follow the form throughout the year, knowing who to concentrate on and now having to worry about if your horse will actually turn up for the race. The horse that really appeals to me in this race, and one that I think is going to have a huge season is The Worlds End. He was a novice last season, and had a great season that could have been a lot better had he not fallen when travelling beautifully at the Cheltenham Festival. He is staying hurdling this season, and staying looks to be his game so for me there is only one race he is going to run in and that is the Stayers Hurdle.
Elsewhere, although he disappointed in this race last season, We are more than happy to give Unowhatimeanharry another chance this season. He has shown some top class form, but for whatever reason failed to fire at the festival last season. He is better than that, and after a summer off he can come back and rediscover his previously good form.

If there is one horse in the field for this race that could dominate the staying hurdle division, and win this race numerous times it is The Worlds End. He is just six years old, so certainly has time on his side and if he hadn’t fallen during the Albert Bartlett last season and won that race, many more people would be talking about him. He gained compensation at Aintree, winning the Grade One hurdle there, and we have previously seen him in good form when he won a Grade Two hurdle at Haydock before he went to Cheltenham. Now, he is boasting great Stayers Hurdle odds.
There is talk that he will go chasing after running over hurdles for one more season, however we are not so sure that would happen. He is good enough to win the Stayers Hurdle, and if he does then I could see him staying over hurdles and dominating this division for a number of years.
Backing a novice going into open company can be a little risky, but The Worlds End looks to be a special horse who will do very well this season. It's a great pick for our Cheltenham World Hurdle betting endeavours.

Since moving to Harry Fry, unowhatimeanharry has lost just one race and that was the Stayers Hurdle last season, for which he was a warm favourite. It was a disappointing run, but for whatever reason he failed to fire that day and finished third in the race. Nichols Canyon won the race, but Unowhatimeanharry managed to gain revenge at Aintree, when he bet him, so there is nothing to fear going into this season. He also boasts great World Hurdle odds.
Being a nine year old, this is his time and if he doesn’t win the Stayers Hurdle this season, he may struggle to win it at all. He is going to be trained with this race in mind, and everything will be done to perfection for him. Of course it was disappointing to see him run like he did at the festival last season, but he has won at the course before, and won at the 2016 festival too so it is not a huge concern. He is a horse that has the ability to win this race, and because of his small disappointment last season he is a much bigger price than he should be this year. It's a perfect pick for Cheltenham Stayers Hurdle 2023.

British trainers have dominated this race, mainly due to the sublime Big Bucks, who dominated this race for Paul Nicholls. However, last season’s winner was Irish trained and they have a couple of good hurdlers who could be coming to try and win the race.

The Stayers Hurdle is a great test of stamina and hurdling ability for horses who are at the top of their game. This race attracts the top staying hurdlers and is the premier staying hurdle race of the season. Due to their being no other race near, the horses that run in this race are decided at an early stage and often we see the same horses turning up to run against each other for many years, which creates great rivalries.
The race is for hurdlers who are aged four year old and up, and it is ran over the distance of three miles, making it a great stamina test. This test is the equivalent of the Gold Cup test for hurdlers, and it is a great race to watch. Being one of the top four races at the festival, the whole of the third day is featured around this race and the build up to it is fantastic. You've got everything you need here, so now just kick back and relax, wait for the World Hurdle results.
